Here's Why You Need a Vacation

A vacation may be on your mind, considering that it is spring break season. It's hard to go on social media without seeing someone's photos of a tropical beach or a post about how great the weather is. It's easy to become envious. But why be envious, when you can join in on the fun?

Don't let your unused vacation days pile up, take advantage of them. The U.S. has approximately 577 million unused vacation days. Even if you don't have an immense amount of vacation days, try to take a long weekend. There are several benefits to going on vacation, benefits that even your employer will love.

Here's why you should start planning a vacation:

1. People who go on vacation are genuinely happier. Your employer will love your positive attitude around the workplace.

2. Vacation can prevent depression. Depression costs the U.S. Economy approx. $23 billion a year in lost productivity.

3. People who vacation live longer, healthier lives. You can be your best self in your personal life and at work.

4. Vacations reduce stress. We are constantly carrying a burden of stress on our backs, let it go and take a break.

5. Vacations will improve productivity. People work their hardest after they have relaxed and restored.

6. Vacations increase creativity. Stepping away from your routine and experiencing something new will give you a new perspective.

Don't have spring break "Fomo." Take a vacation today.
