Productive Days Start at Night

To have a productive tomorrow, start preparing tonight. First, think about what day of the week it is. If today is Friday and tomorrow is Saturday, you might not have a list of tasks to accomplish. However, the majority of the week consists of weekdays, which means you are probably jammed pack with work, meetings, chores, and other tasks.

Start thinking about the tasks you need to accomplish tomorrow and make a mental, physical, or digital note (smartphones are great for making lists).

Prioritize each task. Determine which task is the most important towards you reaching your future goals and which is the least.

Schedule your tasks based on their importance and the amount of time needed to complete them.

Think of creative ways to maximize the amount of tasks you can accomplish in a day. For example, if you have to work and go grocery shopping, pick out your groceries online during a break, and do an in-store pickup after work.

The following day, as you complete tasks, cross them off your list. It will give you a sense of accomplishment.

By pre-planning your day, the night before, you will be much more productive. You won't have to sit around trying to decide what to do and when, which will save you time and energy. You are giving yourself a head-start in the race for the day.

The more you practice this behavior, the better you will get at planning your weekdays, and you will become more and more productive every day.
